To preserve a husband:
- Be careful in your selection,
- Do not choose too young.
- When once selected, give your entire thought to preparation for domestic use.
- Some insist in keeping them in pickle,
- Others are constantly keeping them in hot water,
- This makes them sour, hard and sometimes bitter.
- Even poor varieties may be made sweet, tender and good,
- By garnishing them with patience,
- Well sweetened with love and seasoned with kisses.
- Wrap them in a mantle of love,
- Keep warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion,
- And serve with peaches and cream,
- Thus prepared they will keep for years!

How to remove sap from skin:
It's firewood collecting season here in NZ, and my job is to stack it. Sticky hands are annoying and I've found this works wonders:
Pour some cooking oil (canola, sunflower or olive) on your hands, rub around like you would with soap, then rinse off with warm water and soap. SIMPLE!

Favorite Carpet Stain Remover Recipe
(If no Sunlight Soap available!)
1/4 cup vinegar
1-2 Tablespoons baking soda
Add the vinegar and baking soda to the warm water in a large bowl. Stir slightly and watch it fizz and foam. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and massage the stain from the outside in. Try not to saturate the carpet too much. Massage the area dry (as much as possible) with a clean dry towel. Be careful not to scrub the carpet as you'll make the spot fluffy. Place a clean dry towel over the area, Let dry and then vacuum.
